Individually and collectively, the University of California libraries provide access to the world’s knowledge for the UC campuses and the communities they serve. They directly support UC’s missions of teaching, research, and public service. The University of California libraries, which include some of the world’s most distinctive collections and innovative services, comprise the largest university research library in the world. At UC, faculty, students and staff have access to extensive intellectual resources that combine to form the Libraries' vast collective holdings.
The Libraries of the University of Florida form the largest information resource system in the state of Florida. Collections cover virtually all disciplines and include a wide array of formats-- from books and journals to manuscripts, maps, and recorded music. The UF Libraries' Special Collections holds primary resource research collections of the University of Florida and includes the Rare Book Collection, the Manuscript Collection, the University of Florida Archives, the P.K. Yonge Library of Florida History, the Belknap Collection for the Performing Arts, and the Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature. The holdings are significant in terms of quantity and quality. The collections support the University's academic programs and scholars worldwide.
Since its founding in 1938, the primary mission of the University of Georgia Press has been to support and enhance the University's place as a major research institution by publishing outstanding works of scholarship and literature by scholars and writers throughout the world. The Press is the only scholarly publisher within the University System of Georgia. A full member of the Association of American University Presses since 1940, the Press is also the oldest and largest book publisher in the state. With a full-time staff of 24 publishing professionals, the Press currently publishes 75-80 new books a year and has 1000 titles in print.

The texts, images, and other materials come primarily from the premier Southern collections in the libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. These original Southern materials can be found in several library locations, including the Southern Historical Collection, one of the largest collections of Southern manuscripts in the country; the North Carolina Collection, the most complete printed documentation of a single state anywhere; the Rare Book Collection, which holds an extensive Southern pamphlet collection; and Davis Library, which offers rich holdings of printed materials on the Southeast.
Special Collections acquires, arranges, preserves, and promotes the use of rare and unique materials that support the information, instruction, and research needs of the University of Tennessee community.
