The Tarlton Law Library in the Jamail Center for Legal Research supports the research and curricular needs of the students and faculty of the School of Law, as well as the research needs of the University community, members of the bar, and the public. The Tarlton Law Library is one of the largest academic law libraries in the country, with a physical collection of more than a million volumes and extensive electronic resources. In addition to a comprehensive collection of United States primary and secondary legal materials in print and digital formats, Tarlton has a broad interdisciplinary collection from the social sciences and humanities.

The mission of the Tennessee State Archives is to acquire and administer public records and other historical documentary materials that have permanent value, so as to provide reliable and authentic evidence of the government of Tennessee and the historical experience of its citizens for the benefit of the government and citizens of the state.

The mission of the Tennessee State Museum is to procure, preserve, exhibit, and interpret objects which relate to the social, political, economic, and cultural history of Tennessee and Tennesseans, and to provide exhibitions and programs for the educational and cultural enrichment of the citizens of the state.

Serving Thomas County, Georgia, the Thomas County Library is headquartered in Thomasville, with neighborhood branches in Boston, Coolidge, Meigs, Ochlocknee and Pavo. Continuing its commitment to learning for education and entertainment, the Thomas County Library offers a variety of free programs for adults, teenagers and children. From local author visits to theatre performances, everyone can find something to meet his or her interests. The Library also provides classes for learning to use computers and the Internet. Along with its collection of books, periodicals, audio books, DVDs and video cassettes, and more, the Thomas County Library offers numerous electronic resources through its Website and its numerous subscription databases, most of which can be accessed round the clock from any computer. With computer terminals featuring Internet access, educational software and more available at the main library and each neighborhood branch, Thomas County Library is well-equipped to meet the needs of the community in this digital age.

The Thomasville History Center serves to share, collect, and preserve the historical data, stories, documents, and artifacts related to the individuals, families, schools, churches, businesses, and other institutions of Thomas County. The Society seeks to study and disseminate information related to Thomas County with the objective of fostering a keen interest in Thomas County history. The Society operates the Museum of History and the Lapham-Patterson House Museum to preserve, interpret, and share Thomas County history.

The Troup County Historical Society Archives provides a central location for the permanent preservation of historical papers and assists in the management of local government records for Troup County, Georgia. The purpose of the Troup County Historical Society is "to increase and diffuse knowledge and a greater appreciation of sites, structures, events, personalities, and all other things which pertain to the development of Troup County, Georgia, and to acquire, hold, improve, preserve, develop and restore sites, buildings, and residences or other structures of historic and architectural interest, to promote tours, establish educational institutions and museums, to foster archeological research, mark Indian trails and to prepare and sell publications."
