For more than thirty years the Digital Library of Georgia (DLG) has provided free, public access to Georgia’s cultural and historical resources. We work hand‑in‑hand with libraries, archives, museums, and cultural heritage organizations across the state to digitize, curate, and safeguard irreplaceable materials, making them openly accessible to students, educators, researchers, and communities worldwide.
By investing in the DLG, you help us preserve these historical materials, strengthen statewide partnerships, and advance the teaching, research, and service mission of GALILEO and the University of Georgia.
Donor support enables the creation and long‑term stewardship of high‑value digital collections found on the DLG website, the Civil Rights Digital Library, and Georgia Historic Newspapers. When you give to the DLG, you become a partner in preserving Georgia’s heritage and ensuring that everyone has access to it.
The DLG welcomes gifts of all types, and all gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
General gifts will be used to support the DLG mission by helping us to hire student workers, purchase specialty software, and support day-to-day operations.
Special project gifts fund the digitization, preservation, and online access of a specific collection or newspaper title. All work is done by the DLG on behalf of our partners. See our wish list below and contact us if you would like to support a special project.
Equipment gifts help us make large technology purchases necessary for large scale, archival digitization. See our wish list below and contact us if you would like to support an equipment project.

Cash: Gifts may be made by check or cash.
Credit Card: Credit card gifts may be made over the phone.
Stock Transfer: Gifts of appreciated stock or other marketable securities may be made by stock transfer.
Matching Gifts: If you or your spouse work or serve on the board of a matching gift company, maximize the value of your gift by applying for a grant to double or triple your support.
