Georgia B. Williams Nursing Home Inc. is a 501c3 organization that exists to honor and share the legacy of Beatrice Borders and restore the Georgia B. Williams Nursing Home as a museum and educational center.

The Museum seeks to preserve and interpret the history of the Georgia Capitol itself as well as the events that have taken place within its walls. To carry out this purpose, the Museum collects, maintains, and exhibits significant artifacts, including historic flags and works of art, within the State Capitol.

Georgia Council for the Arts empowers the arts industry in Georgia and artists around the state to cultivate healthy, vibrant communities that are rich in civic participation, cultural development and economic prosperity. As a division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Council for the Arts provides grant funding, programs and services statewide that support this vital industry, preserve our cultural heritage and create increased access to high quality arts experiences. Funding for Georgia Council for the Arts is provided by the Georgia General Assembly, the National Endowment for the Arts and other private and public sources. Georgia Electric Membership Corp. is the statewide trade association that serves Georgia’s 41 electric membership corporations, Oglethorpe Power Corp., Georgia Transmission Corp., and Georgia System Operations Corp. Our association enables Georgia’s electric membership corporations to pool their resources to gain strength and efficiency on issues common to the EMCs. We are a not-for-profit 501 (C)(6), member-owned organization controlled by a board of directors elected from the member cooperatives and corporations.

The Georgia Historical Society's library and archives, a major research center for Georgia history, houses one of the most outstanding collections of manuscripts, books, maps, photographs, architectural drawings, portraits, and artifacts related to the history of Georgia. The mission of the Georgia Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and share the history of the State of Georgia. Among the most significant ways in which the Society fulfills this mission is by collecting, receiving, and preserving letters, documents, photographs, art work, books, records, artifacts, and memorabilia pertaining to the purposes of this Society; maintaining an archives building for the better preservation of its collection; and by creating and maintaining an historical library for the use of its members and others of the general public under such rules and regulations for use of the collection.

Georgia Military College provides facilities and instructional support services for the library that are appropriate to GMC's academic programs and that adequately support its educational mission.

The Georgia Newspaper Project is part of the U.S. Newspaper Program, run by the National Endowment for the Humanities with assistance from the Library of Congress, and its goals are to locate, catalog, and preserve on microfilm newspapers published in Georgia from the eighteenth century to the present. To date the Georgia Newspaper Project has microfilmed at least one newspaper title from every county in Georgia in which newspapers were ever published. More than 2500 titles altogether have been filmed, including over 200 current newspapers that continue to be filmed on an ongoing basis.

The University Libraries support Georgia Southern University’s mission by providing access to information, collections, and services designed to meet the scholarly needs of the University and its diverse community. The Libraries advance independent lifelong learning, information literacy, intellectual and creative discovery, and student success. We foster a welcoming and innovative learning environment, both physically and virtually, for research, collaboration, and preservation of resources.

The University Library contains over 1.3 million volumes, including 7,989 active serials, and almost 22,000 media materials. The library has access to 276 electronic periodical and resource indexes (many with full text), almost 14,000 electronic journals, and about 30,000 electronic books. Additionally, the library is a Federal Document Depository and holds more than 820,000 government documents with electronic access to many additional titles. The Special Collections Department of the Georgia State University Library collects and preserves unique and rare historical materials in selected subject areas, and promotes the use of these materials by the Georgia State University community, scholars, and the public. Its goal is to advance scholarship and further the educational, research, and service missions of the university. Founded in 1973, the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation works for the preservation and revitalization of Georgia’s diverse historic resources and advocates their appreciation, protection and use. As one of the country’s leading statewide, nonprofit preservation organizations, the Trust generates community revitalization by finding buyers for endangered properties acquired by its Revolving Fund and raises awareness of other endangered historic resources through an annual listing of Georgia’s “Places in Peril.”

The Griffin-Spalding County Library is the headquarters of the Flint River Regional Library System, which serves the six West Central Georgia counties of Butts, Fayette, Lamar, Monroe, Pike, and Spalding.

A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Gwinnett Historical Society is dedicated to preserving, educating, and archiving Gwinnett County's rich history through its genealogy, library, and archival collections.
