- Postcard image, circa 1900, depicting the front and side elevations of the Partridge Inn in Summerville, Georgia. Eager to tap into Augusta's booming tourist industry at the turn of the century, Morris W. Partridge acquired and converted the former home of Jonathan Meigs into a sprawling winter resort.
Inscribed on verso: "Augusta, Ga., Mar. 15, 1912, An official report has been sent out to warn the people that a flood is expected in Augusta as soon as tomorrow morning. We had a very heavy rain and there was a cloud burst up in the country. That is always the danger. The water will get here about tomorrow morning. People are moving upstairs and people are too busy to do business. The package came OK. Mrs. Hill is much pleased. With love --Ella."
