- Description:
- A photograph of three cots set along the sides of a wooden platform on the army air base at Hunter Field in Savannah, Georgia. It looks as though the platform is part of a tent whose cover has been lifted. A serviceman (identified as Lloyd Geirke) is resting with folded knees alongside the cot on the left of the photograph. The cot in the middle of the photograph shows that a serviceman's effects have been placed on a railing behind the cot, and a third cot, on the right side of the photo, appears to be empty. The back of the photograph reads: "Tent struck. Lloyd Geirke sunbathing May 7, [19]42, Savannah Army Air Base, Ga."
