- Description:
- 600 3rd Ave. [Columbus, Ga., after restoration]. The 1912 Columbus city directory lists the residents of 600 3rd Avenue as Nancy Gossett (widow of James Gossett), and John A. and Della Wimberly. John A. Wimberly was employed at J. T. Knight &Son. This house is significant as a representation of neo-Georgian architecture in Columbus, as an example of homes constructed by prosperous residents of Columbus circa 1910-1920, and as an example of a duplex house property. Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation records describe this building as a past Preservation Award Winner. Variant names include: 600 3rd Ave..
