- This document dated March 28, 1836 contains two sworn statements that attest to William S. Wilson's service as a volunteer in the 88th Regiment of the Georgia Militia during action against the Creek Indians. The first statement is Wilson's affidavit which indicates that he served from December 1-6, 1835, and his statement is witnessed by Brockman W. Henderson, a justice of the peace. The second statement is that of Abednego McGinty, Colonel of Wilson's regiment, who certifies that Wilson served under him on the dates stated in his own affidavit.

Personally came before me Brockman W. Henderson, a justice of the peace, William S. Wilson, who bing [being] duly sworn deposeth and saith, that he served as a volunteer against the Creek Indians from the
first to the
sixth of December 1835, inclusive and that during that period he commanded a company of volunteers raised in the county of Early for the purpose of repelling the incursions of said Indians --
