- Description:
- A photograph of the Bleckley County exhibit at the Georgia State Fair, Macon, Bibb County, Georgia, 1946. This exhibit is centered around a giant light bulb symbolizing the slogan "Lighting the Way to Progress." A variety of produce, preserved foods, grains, and homemade clothes are on display. On either side of the exhibit are signs (some only partially legible) that identify the groups involved and examples of their agricultural progress: "Home Demonstration Clubs," "4-H Club Pig and Poultry Chain," "More Poultry and Eggs," "Seed Treatment," "Wildlife Conservation," and "Crop Enterprise Cotton Corn Peanuts Potatoes." Written on the back of the photograph: "Walter M. Pharr - 713 Cherry St., Macon."
