The two pie graphs pictured represent
the distribution of cash income from
Georgai crops and livestock in 1927 and i in
1957. It is interesting to note the changes
that have taken place during the past ag
thirty years in Georgia's agricultural pic-
ture. The farm diversification program is
evident in the 1957 pie. Notice the differ-
ence in the size of cotton and cotton seed
in the two graphs. Notice the change that
has taken place in the broiler industry.
The cash income from livestock ex-
ceeded the cash income from crops for
the first time in Georgia in 1957. Live-
stock accounted for only 16.3 percent of
the income in 1927, whereas in 1957 live- _
stock accounted for 54.2 percent of-
total,
