suit brought against you for putting the true

T-am for you in all your undertakings,

and would like to see a man of your calibre |
as President. of these United States. We |
need a leader who will try to restore some
- degree- -of security :
of exhausting our basic resources trying to |

on the American. people : a Civil Rights pro-

Commissioner of. Agriculture,
Atlanta, Ga.
Dear Tom:

I am cchehien you are well. again and
on the job. I can sympathize with you for
I have been out of commission for near 3
months. Have been confined in a dark room
at home with Iritis in left eye but am out
a good part of the time, especially on dark
cloudy days, trying to get my. cattle busi-
ness going again.

That Federal indictment against you and
the other fine fellows is a National shame.
I know nothing will come of it but it is
annoying. However, it will give you an op-
portunity to prove your case against the
International combines who seem bent on
destroying - the American farmer and our

Democratic way of life. : Eee
The fight you are waging for hie Auneee

can farmer is challenging the attention of

every section of our nation and our farm- |

ers here, together with our businessmen im
all the small cities are backing: you in thie See
* fight. Keep jit up and use that opportunity :

in defending yourself at Washington to still
further acquaint the American people with
the dangers of too much centralized gov:
ernment and the big paid lobbies of: a

"special interests.

_. Too, | want to see that big Georgiac owne
ed and operated Farmers Market built in

ae the shadow of the National Capitol. .

If I-can be of assistance in any, way, you. es
have only: to callon me. :

Commissioner of Agriculture,

State of Georgia,

State Capitol,

Atlanta, Georgia.

Dear Mr. Linder:

-- [| have always been very much interested
in your sincere efforts in behalf of the Geor-
gia and Southern farmers.

We have used material from your talks
and bulletin in our program in Putnam
County.

It is very regretable that the present
regime in Washington secured an indictment
against you, Commissioner McDonald and
farmer Harris.

We sincerely hope that you will soon
be vindicated and we will always admire
you for your unfailing courage.

Your efforts in behalf of the Southern
farmers ar2 an inspiration to all of us.

Yours very truly,

at strategic places: It must support these forces with
a continuous program of research and development.

It must test and retest equipment. It must distribute
supplies to far-flung airfields and air bases; it keeps

school graduates who are otherwise qualified may
choose their specialty school before enlisting and he
guaranteed assignment to that school. Upon enlistment

Editorial By TOM LINDER

1943, I had the pleasure of addressing
delegates from five states to the Farm-

diana.

Tadiana, Ohio, Michigan, Lknais and
ova are some of the best farm states
ju the Union.

Most of the ices to this Conven-
tion were real dirt farmers as vou eould
easily tell by the sign of years of stn-

by their hard, rough hands. ,

There was absolute accord in the
meeting. Everyone was of the same
mind. Without exception, it was _the

_ opinion of the meeting that bureau-

eratie control of the farmers must be

eliminated,

Without exception, those delegates

As a young man, in South Geor-

found it was impossible to run a straight
line guided entirely by the magnetic

compass.

Any local attraction such as. rail-

other metals would eause the compass
