On January 12, 1942, In Girard, Georgia, ELIZA MAE
GIVENS SAMUELS life started from a humble beginnings
surround by family, kindness, and support. Eliza was
the tenth child of ten children (baby girl) born to the late
Deacon Allen and Eliza Brigham Givens. Eliza was educated
in the Burke County School System.
At an early age, she joined Cochran Grove Baptist Church
in Girard, Georgia. After relocating to Augusta, Georgia,
she joined Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church under
Christian Experience, serving faithfully until her health
failed. After thirty-two years, Eliza retired from the Kellogg
Company.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: husband, Nathan
Samuels; son, Gary Givens, Macon, Georgia; daughter, Jackie
Givens, Augusta, Georgia; sister, Mary (Bishop Thomas)
Aaron, Hephzibah, Georgia; brother-in-law, Boulder
Samuels, North Augusta, South Carolina; aunt, Mildred
Brigham; four stepchildren, Navesia Samuels, Los Angeles,
California; Natlie Samuels (Bernard Roberson), Lithonia,
Georgia, Martina Samuels, Columbia, South Carolina and
Teresa Person, Augusta, Georgia; two stepsisters; three
stepbrothers; godchildren, Trye Luke, Angela Moton
Cooper, Kim Stewart, Jada Treadwell, Carl Jones and
Delwin Corner; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and
friends.

I had to go, a cure was not to be. I know how much you
love me, please know that I love you too. And each time
you think of me, I know you all will miss me too. My heart
stopped beating, my hard working hand at rest, Miss me,
but please let me go.
