Cancer. She was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Mi. Richard and Mrs. Agnes Smith. She was
the oldest of three children. When her mother passed, she was raised by her father and grandmother,
Mrs. Lucretia Smith, one of the founding members who walked from Saint John Methodist Church
to worship under a brush arbor at 8th and Taylor Streets to what is now called Trinity Christian
Methodist Episcopal Church.
Margaret joined Trinity C.M.E. Church in 1929 at the age of nine years old. She was been a member
since that time. She had been appointed to the Stewardess Board by Reverend L. C. Jones and remamed
a member of the board until she could no longer serve. She also served as president for several years.
She served on Usher Board #2 for a short period of time. When the boards were combined, she
stopped serving on the Usher Board but remained a member of the Stewardess Board. Under the
initiation of Reverend Dr. Herman Skip Mason, Jr, in November 2018, the Stewardess Room was
named the Margaret S. Parramore Stewardess Board Room and Sacristy in her honor.
Margaret was known by many names... Mama, Precious, Grandma, Mother Parramore, Miss P. and
the Mother of the Church. She answered to any of these names.
She sold Avon, did domestic work, and even worked as a substitute teacher under Reverend Luther
R. Neal.
In 1943, she married Johnnie Parramore, and to this union, three daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie and son Robert.
Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory: three daughters and one son-in-law, Lucretia
(Roscoe) Brown, Mary B. Duboise and Reverend Margaret Parramore, all of Augusta, Georgia;
loving grandchildren, Patricia L. Duboise of SnelMle, Georgia and Roscoe Rocky Brown,
II of Augusta, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Brianna Simmons; nephew, James (Michelle) Smith;
- cherished goddaughter, Amy Rosenthal of Portland, Oregon; and a host of great nieces, nephews,
godchildren, and her church family whom she cherished deeply.

DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP; I AM NOT THERE, I DO NOT SLEEP.
I AM A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW. I AM THE DIAMOND GLINTS ON SNOW.
I AM THE SUNLIGHT ON RIPENED GRAIN.
I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN RAIN.
When you awaken in the mornings hush.
I AM THE SWIFT UPLIFTING RUSH Of QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLED FLIGHT.
I AM THE SOFT STARS THAT SHINE AT NIGHT. Do NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY;
I AM NOT THERE, I DID NOT DIE.
The family expresses our warm and sincere gratitude to all who have shown acts of kindness during
our great loss. The prayers, telephone calls, visits, cards, flowers, and words of comfort will always
be remembered. A special Thank You to Ms. Britney Anderson and Brookdale Senior Living and Ms.
Kara Prior and Kindred Hospice who provided loving care to our Precious. A special Thank You to
Mrs. Lucile Forrester who provided exceptional care to her near the end of her life. Last, but certainly
not least, the family gives hugs and kisses to Reverend Mason and her Trinity Family for your love and
support and all other acts of love and kindness. Precious truly loved her pastor and her church family.
May God continue to bless each of you.
