She was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late Mi. Richard and Mrs. Agnes Smith. She was the oldest of three children. When her mother passed, she was raised by her father and grandmother, Mrs. Lucretia Smith, one of the founding members who walked from Saint John Methodist Church to worship under a brush arbor at 8th and Taylor Streets to what is now called Trinity Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Margaret joined Trinity C.M.E. Church in 1929 at the age of nine years old. She was been a member since that time. She had been appointed to the Stewardess Board by Reverend L. C. Jones and remamed a member of the board until she could no longer serve. She also served as president for several years. She served on Usher Board #2 for a short period of time. When the boards were combined, she stopped serving on the Usher Board but remained a member of the Stewardess Board. Under the initiation of Reverend Dr. Herman Skip Mason, Jr, in November 2018, the Stewardess Room was named the Margaret S. Parramore Stewardess Board Room and Sacristy in her honor. Margaret was known by many names... Mama, Precious, Grandma, Mother Parramore, Miss P. and the Mother of the Church. She answered to any of these names.
