Since 1886, the Pandora has been the yearbook of the University of Georgia. Starting as a publication of the fraternities, the Pandora combined facts, photography, cartooning, and humor (of varying quality) to provide an annual record of University activities. Its serious and satirical articles both provide interesting historical details about student life on campus and in Athens. The first offering provided scans of the first few years published, 1886-1899, volumes 1-12. Volumes were not published for 1889 and 1891. The second offering provided digitized volumes from 1965-1974. Later volumes will be added over time. Some volumes include historical images and accompanying materials that may contain offensive language or negative stereotypes reflecting the culture or language of a particular period or place. These items are presented as part of the historical record.
