Description
World War II veterans living in or near Athens, Clarke County, Georgia in 1994 discuss campaigns in Europe, Africa and the Pacific; the attack on Pearl Harbor; Anzio, Italy; the Battle of the Bulge; the United States Army Air Force; bombing raids; Iwo Jima, Japan; Saipan; Guam; kamikaze attacks; submarine warfare; the Bataan Death March in the Philippines; the Palawan Massacre in the Philippines; and the experiences of prisoners of war. Also included are interviews with women veterans of various services and organizations.
Part of a commemorative World War II Oral History Project titled “Rendezvous with History.”
