- Description:
- Joseph Meyer recounts his WWII experiences. He joined the Navy in 1944 as a Seaman Apprentice serving on the USS Wisconsin and the USS Augusta. President Truman traveled to the Potsdam Conference on board the USS Augusta where Mr. Meyer has a conversation with the President for about 15-20 minutes. Mr. Meyer recounts President Truman telling the seamen about the atomic bomb. Mr. Meyer later serves in the Korean War.
