- Description:
- Postcard (color, divided back, 3 ½ x 5 ½ inches) titled The Clan Macaulay - The card features the clan crest and slogan in an inset surrounded by a tartan border. Clan MacAulay, spelled Macaulay or Macauley, is a Scottish clan. The clan was historically centered on the lands of Ardincaple. Clan MacAulay dates, with certainty, to the 16th century. The clan was engaged in several feuds with neighboring clans. The clan's fortunes declined in the 17th and 18th centuries. It became dormant after the death of Aulay MacAulay in the mid-18th century. No descriptive test on reverse. Postage affixed: One penny stamp. Postmarked Aug 6, 1906 London W.C.
