- Postcard (black and white, white border, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches) titled: 25. The Abby Ruins, Leicester. - Within Abbey Park lie the ruins of Leicester Abbey, founded in the mid-12th century. In the ruins of the abbey church is the grave of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, Henry VIII's chancellor, who died here in 1530. The abbey gatehouse was later transformed into an elegant Jacobean house for the Cavendish family, Dukes of Devonshire. No descriptive text on reverse.
