- Postcard (color, white border, linen textured, divided back, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, reprint) titled Old State Capitol Building, now Georgia Military College, Milledgeville, Ga. - The image is of a multi-storied Gothic Revival style building. The Historic Old Capitol Building is said to be the oldest public building of its style in the United States. It is now more than 200 years old. The Georgia Legislature first met there in 1807. Text on reverse: This historic old building was the capitol building during the sixty years that Milledgeville was Georgia’s Capital. In this building was held the secession convention, and here Sherman’s soldiers held a mock legislature on their devastating March to the Sea. Postage affixed – 3 cent Liberty stamp. Card numbered 987-29-N.
