- Part one of a two-part recording. Art Rosenbaum records Howard Finster and Stan Gillian. In the first half of the recording, Howard Finster whistles, performs bird calls and speaks about the creation of the universe and life on other planets. At 00:31:38 Stan Gillian sings traditional songs. At 00:48:17 Howard Finster performs three songs and talks about his upbringing in Alabama, shooting his first rabbit, and he and W. Guy Bruce each tell a riddle (continued in the second part of the recording). The first song Finster sings, "Just a Little Tack," was composed while he was at the Library of Congress.
