- Episode of Down Yonder with Art Rosenbaum focusing on Gid Tanner's Skillet Lickers and the continuing tradition of old-time music in the Tanner family. Rosenbaum visits with Gid Tanner's son, Gordon Tanner, and Smokey Joe Miller. With Tanner on fiddle and vocals, Miller on guitar, and Rosenbaum on banjo, they play several old-time songs. Rosenbaum gives a brief history of old-time Georgia music; he talks about Fiddlin' John Carson, Gid Tanner, and the Skillet Lickers. Between songs, Gordon Tanner discusses recording with the Skillet Lickers and demonstrates how he builds his own fiddles and Miller talks about playing with Gid Tanner and Riley Puckett. Gordon Tanner's son Phil discusses growing up in a musical family and continuing the family tradition with his son, Russ.
