- Art Rosenbaum interviews Lawrence McIver about the McIntosh County Shouters and their tradition of ring-plays. Part 1 of 4. He recalls learning the ring-plays as a child from older women in his community. McIver discusses how the shouts were performed around the community, and made part of Christmas traditions. McIver performs songs and explains the string techniques. He sings slavery-era songs "Moo Daniel" and "Read it John."
