- Description:
- Video of the 1989 North Georgia Folk Festival in Athens, Georgia, part two of three. The folk music bands Southern Crescent and Hurt Dog perform on stage. Southern Crescent performs several songs, including "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise." The video includes shots of the festival attendees sitting on the ground, watching the performances, and dancing. Hurt Dog plays next, and performs blues, gospel and cajun music. Both groups contain women and men. The video appears to be recorded over another video from WMAQ-TV in Chicago, an NBC affiliate. The video is a public service program about alcohol awareness, and it appears at the end. The annual folk music festival is organized by the Athens Folk Music & Dance Society.
