- Program from the grand opening of the Martin Theatre on Wednesday, April 15th, 1957, in Americus, Georgia. The Martin Theatre was part of the Martin Theatre Company chain of more than sixty-five theaters in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida owned by R. E. Martin of Columbus, Georgia. The theaters were opened primarily as movie houses. This program is for the Martin Theatre that was opened across downtown from the Rylander Theatre. The personnel list in this document shows that the theatre operated as a segregated establishment.
