- Description:
- Caution labels used by the Rylander Theatre for shipping packages containing flammable motion-picture films. Most 35-millimeter film stock manufactured befor 1951 was nitrate, a highly flammable material similar to gunpowder. Once ignited, nitrate fires cannot be extinguished, because the combustion process generates its own oxygen. In most countries today, there are laws that regulate how nitrate film is stored and shipped.
