- Deed of conveyance dated July 14, 1874 for 750 acres on Colonels Island known as "Colonels Island Plantation" and including tracts known as "Social Bluff" and "Tiger Swamp". Sold by Charles C. Jones Jr of New York City; Joseph Jones of New Orleans, Louisiana; and James A.M. King of Liberty County, surviving trustees under the marriage settlement between Laura E. Maxwell and David L. Buttolph; and Laura E. Buttolph, wife of David Buttolph; and David Buttolph, of Cobb County, to Hardy M. Chastain, of Thomas County, for $800. On March 17, 1880, J.A.M. King exchanged the 50-acre Black Rock property for Julia R. King's 30 acres at Maxwellton and 20 acres of woodland.
