Letter from Julia King at King's Land, Merritt Island, Florida, dated April 25, 1941, to "Dear Friend I love." Expresses regret over missing the upcoming annual Midway Church homecoming. Describes her busy life directing work on her garden and hopes she will be able to start a "war garden" or "defense garden." Describes her flock of chickens. Praises the English, who have turned their golf links into defense gardens, and excoriates Hitler: "I don't mind telling you if anyone would catch Herr Hitler, &tar &feather him &send for me, I would gladly put the torch to him with my own hand." Says the coast is "well patrolled. Air ships go thundering along over the River over my house..."
