- Description:
- Postcard features a black and white drawing of the Piedmont Hotel which was located two or three blocks from the Southern Depot on Main Street in Gainesville, GA. The hotel was constructed in 1873 and was owned and operated by General James Longstreet for almost 20 years following the Civil War. The majority of the three-story hotel building was demolished c. 1918, but in 1993, a small part of the hotel was discovered and has been restored by the Longstreet Society.
