This Indenture made & entered into this
twenty Seventh day of June Eighteen
hundred & forty two between John Montgomery
of the one part of the County of Baker and Felix G. Arnett
of the other part of the County of Decatur,
Witnesseth that I
John Montgomery have this bargained sold & delivered unto
Felix G. Arnett for the Sum of Five Hundred Dollars to me
in hand paid at & before the sealing & delivery, a Certain
Negroe man Slave by the name of Bill about twenty
six years of age, to have & to hold for his own
proper use & benefit, which I bind myself my heirs and
assigns forever unto the said Felix G. his heirs & assigns
forever, I further warrant the said Negro man
Bill a sound healthy, negroe, and a slave
for life. Witnessed my hand and Seal this day
and year first above written
