Oath that he is about to
bring into this State a negro Girl named Betsey
about twelve years of age in the care of Mr. James
George now travelling from North Carolina to
Jones County in this State. that said Negro girl
is not brought into this State for of trade or trafick [traffic]
nor for the purpose of violating or evading the late
act of the General assembly in that case mad [made?] & pro-
vided but for his own use [and] service and that
he will neither sell give hire lend nor in any
manner dispose of said Slave contrary to the true
intent and meaning of said act of the General
Assembly made to prevent the importing and bringing
into this State Slaves to Sell & trafick [traffic]
