Know all men by
these Presents, that I Andrew Maybank
Jones of the county of Liberty and State
aforesaid, for and in consideration of the
sum of One thousand dollars to me in
hand paid, by Edwin West Jones, of the
county of Liberty and State afore said,
the receipt whereof I do hereby ackn-
owledge, have granted, bargained and
sold, and by these Presents do grant
bargain and sell to the said Edwin
West Jones, His Heirs, Assigns, Administra-
-tors and Executors, the following Negroe
slave, to wit, Sam twenty five years of age;
to have and to hold the said Slave,
to Him the said Edwin West Jones, His
Heirs, Assigns Administrators and Exe-
-cutors forever. And I the said
Andrew, Maybank, Jones for myself my
Heirs, Assigns Administrators and Execu-
-tors the said bargained property unto
the said Edwin West Jones His Heirs
Assigns Administrator and Executors,

all and every other person or persons
whatever, shall and will warrant and
defend by these Presents.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto,
