- Bulloch Hall was built in 1839 by Major James Stephen Bulloch, the grandson of former Georgia governor Archibald Bulloch (1730–1777). Martha Bulloch Roosevelt ("Mittie"), the mother of Theodore Roosevelt (the 26th U.S. president) and descendant of Governor Archibald Bulloch, lived here as a child. "Mittie" Bulloch married Theodore Roosevelt's father, Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. at this site. Variant names include: Bulloch Hall.
