He describes the lives and careers of several family members, such as his biochemist grandfather, Herbert Clay Scurlock's, and his photographer grand uncle, Addison Scurlock, and his civil rights investigator father. Scurlock also reflects on attending Swarthmore College. He details his career development, including his time as a electrical technician for the US Armed Forces and work with the Civil Aeronautics Authority, now know as the Federal Aviation Administration. Herbert Anthony Scurlock was born on September 25, 1993 in Washington D.C. He served years as an electrical technician for the United States Air Force, Navy, and Federal Aviation Administration. Scurlock also worked at the Department of Transportation and Department of Agriculture in personnel and equal opportunity management. Following retirement, Scurlock became a contractor for the Department of Interior, Library of Congress, and the Civil Service Commission. He also served as mayor of Maryland's Highland Beach Community amongst assuming other local leadership positions. Scurlock is also the grandson of well-known biochemist, Herbert Clay Scurlock, and well known photographer, Addison Scurlock. Herbert A. Scurlock passed away on May 3, 2024 in Annapolis Maryland.
