Fort Pulaski is located on Cockspur Island, fifteen miles southeast of Savannah, Georgia. The fort was built in 1833 and named in honor of Revolutionary War commander Casimir Pulaski. The fort is a national monument and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. - Local Identifier:
