View of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, formerly a Jewish Temple, at 524 Pryor Street in Atlanta, Georgia.
The first Cathedral of the Annunciation's congregation was organized in 1905 and services were held in a rented hall on Whitehall Street under the name "The Annunciation of the Mother of Christ." The congregation built their first church at Garnett Street and Central Avenue in 1906. In 1929 the congregation moved to what was previously a Jewish Synagogue, at Pryor and Richardson Streets. In 1970 the congregation moved to a church at 2500 Claremont Road and was dedicated as a cathedral. - Local Identifier:
