View of Atlanta First United Methodist Church at Peachtree Street and Porter Place in Atlanta, Georgia.
The current First Methodist Church was constructed in 1903 out of granite from Stone Mountain, by local Atlanta architect Willis Franklin Denny. The church at Peachtree Street and Porter Place was built as a replacement for the congregation's former church, located at Pryor and Peachtree Street, which was sold to Asa Candler. Candler would later build the Candler Building on that site. - Local Identifier:
