Eddie Mathews was a Major League baseball player from 1952-1968 who played third base for the Milwaukee Braves, and later the Atlanta Braves. He finished his career with the Detroit Tigers. He also was manager of the Atlanta Braves from 1972-1974. Mathews hit 512 home runs during hs career and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1978. - Local Identifier:
