George Busbee (1927-2004) served as Georgia's governor from 1975 to 1983. A Democrat, he was the first governor of the state to serve two consecutive four-year terms. He had previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives for eighteen years, which included eight years of service as the House majority leader. After he retired from politics in 1983, Busbee became a partner in the law firm of King & Spalding. - Local Identifier:
