That keeps the word of promise to our ear & breaks it to our hope of these petitions have bean heard, & hope they will all be heard. But when you read these lines, you will be orphans; you will have neither [have] father nor mother to intercede for you. Then, my dear children, will you not comply with my last request to pray daily for yourselves that you may be enabled & inclined to serve God usefully & acceptably in this life, & prepared to live in heaven eternally? Teach your children, if you have any, & your young servants, as I have taught you and my young servants. I wish that Marianna may have my gold breast pin & her choice of the dressing Looking-glasses, and Scott's Family bible. M.W.
