- Indexed notebook used by Reverend Henry Newton to record various events related to his work as a Presbyterian minister. The book is prefaced by instructions and a lecture from the publisher on how to properly use the book. The index proper was used by Newton as a register of sermons performed. The register is organized by book and verse of the bible from which the sermon comes and logs the churches at which the sermons were given. Rev. Newton also logs marriages which he officiated, including the names of the couples married, where they are from, and when the marriages took place. Also included are three newspaper clippings, two debating reform in Presbyterian doctrine and one arguing why Christians should not dance.
