- Description:
- Preaching record book written by Reverend Henry Newton covering the years 1877 through 1900. The notes detail each preaching engagement for the month including what sermons were preached and where they were given. The notes also give details on tithe collections, audience reactions, audience disturbances, church activities, church duties, and camp meetings. Also noted are the deaths of three close family members: Newton's brother John Newton, his sister Jane Newton Hall and, four days later, his wife Jane C. Newton.
From notes: Bound notebook. Discusses the reception among audience members, events among members and the church that day, as well as ordinary church activities. Includes payment for pastoral duties after entries, and comments on contemporary events. - Metadata URL:
