- Postcard image from the turn of the twentieth century depicting electric street car and tracks on lower Broad Street, in Augusta, Georgia. Lower Broad Street became a popular residential area for affluent Augustans during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Adding to the appeal of the neighborhood was the convenience provided by electric street cars which were introduced in the early 1890s.
