- Description:
- Green [Greene] Street in Augusta, Georgia served as a popular residential area for Augustans at the turn of the twentieth century. This postcard depicts the home and office of Dr. Thomas D. Coleman, located at 503 Green [Greene] Street. In later years the building was occupied by Pine Hights Sanitarium of North Augusta and the Richmond County Board of Health. The building was torn down in 1956.
Inscribed on verso: "Augusta, Ga., Oct. 19, 1912, Thank you for your card. We have also enjoyed several letters. We can hardly believe that three weeks of Oct. have gone. The time goes as fast as of yours. I am glad that you like W. and I know that you will take advantage of all those nice things. I certainly enjoyed the West. --L.H."
Addressed to Miss Ella C. Mayo, 1305 17th St., Washington, D.C.
