SOLDIER
j was that which others did not want to be.
i went where others feared to go, and did what
others failed to do.
I asked nothing from those who gave nothing,
and relectantly accepted the thought of
eternal lonliness... should I fail.
I have seen the face of terror; felt the stinging
cold of fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste
of a moment's love.
I have cried, pained, and hoped .,. but most of
ail, I have lived times others would say
were best forgotten.
At least someday I will be able to say that 1
was proud of what I was... a soldier.
In tears, I ^ew you were sin^ng and fading away,
(But I grayed for your restored heaCtfL one day.
Yes, my heart was Srohen, Because you could
neither speah^to me nor stand.
(But, Jesus saw your state and whispered,
''Jderschel, take my hand.
I have come to give you peace
JAndtaheyou to the promise hand
So, jCerscheh, you are sCeeping now,
(peacefuh and free from pain.
I hove you too much to wish you Sach^to suffer again.
JAhthough my heart is Broken and I wihC miss your
8 dchocf Sunday morning rings.
(Jod has promised that if I Behieve and trust in J-Cim,
we wihhsee each other again.
With Love,
Your Sister, dernehCa
