spent 28 years in tBe VS Afmy and tBe A^my P^serve, stationed at Bases in TejQis, 
Mississippi, %entucBy andJLew Jersey. JLe also served 18 montBis in Vietnam as 
an Assistant Motor Sergeant. JLe was a retired veteran of tBe VS Ai'^y eind tBe 
Army <peserve.

and relectantly accepted the thought of 
eternal lonliness... should I fail. 
I have seen the face of terror; felt the stinging 
cold of fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste 
of a moment's love. 
I have cried, pained, and hoped .,. but most of 
ail, I have lived times others would say 
were best forgotten. 
At least someday I will be able to say that 1 
was proud of what I was... a soldier.
