John 14: Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in
me. In my fathers house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you. and if I go and prepare a place for
you, 1 will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you
may be also."
God looked down, and saw his daughter getting tired and Gracie looked up
while at home surrounded by family, and answered the call on
Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Gracie Slater-Davis was welcomed into the world on May 7, 1927, in Liberty
County, GA to the late Turner and Geneva Bennett Slater. Gracie was the
sibling of 6 brothers, Grady, Gus, Milton, Ben, Lydge, Dan, and 3 sisters
Francina, Derva Bel, and Mary. Gracie is the last of the Turner and Geneva
Slater clan.
Gracie attended school at Taylor Creek school in Hinesville, GA where she
bcame knowledgeable and skilled at everything life had to offer. Gracie was
united in holy matrimony to the late Cleveland Nick Davis and worked as a
homemaker for many years, until she decided to retire and take care of her
family.
Gracie was known by many as Sista and "Aunt Grace and was respected
and loved by many. Gracie was known as a walking history book even during
her old age and declining health. There was never a response of I dont
know, she always had the answer.
Gracie accepted the lord and savior Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an
early age. Gracie joined and attended faithfully. Green Cypress Missionary
Baptist Church, Claxton, GA. Gracie enjoyed serving and worshipping the
Lord, until her illness allowed her to remain at home and enjoy TV ministry.
Aside from worshipping the Lord, one of Gracies greatest hobbies was
fishing.
Gracie joined and became a member of the Baptist Burial Society where she
was dedicated and faithfully attended meetings until her health began to
fail.
Gracie answered the call to be with the Lord and her three children, Cynthia
Davis, Bessie Nunnally-Sanchez, and Samuel Cameo Davis. Gracie leaves
to mourn her passing, but cherished memories:

EMMA MARIE ETWEEL
When you remember me.
Please do not weep.
My body may not be there
It has chosen to sleep.
Im not that far away.
My soul lives on.
Looking down, watching over
You and everyone.
And when you feel sad
And life seems blue.
Just remember
That my spirit has its arms around you.
And on those special days.
Times that you wish I could see.
That cool breeze flowing past you...
Well, that will be me.
So, dont be sad.
Elave no fear.
God has taken me under his wing.
But Ill always be near.
I still watch you
Every minute, every day.
My love and soul are with you
And thats where they will stay.
