Clanton McCoy, Jr. was born on April 8, 1931, the
second of five children to the late Clanton McCoy Sr.,
and the late Ollie Mae Jones McCoy (Williams). He
was set free to be at peace on Sunday morning,
October 16, 2005.
Cianton McCoy was a painter by trade, a man of few
words - on most occasions, a connoisseur of cigars,
and the CEO of the McCoy - Jones family reunion.
"Junior" attended the Evans County Training Schooi,
and he became a member of the Hagan Chapel
Missionary Bapist Church at an early age. During his
latter years at Hagan Chapel, he was a member of the
Ushers' Board (Ministry), President of the Laymen's
Department, and former member of the Finance
Committee. He was a member of the Gladiators
Incorporated.
In 2002, "Junior" accepted Christ as his personai
savior. Romans 10:9-10 was one of his favorite
scriptures. He gives you an invitation which must be
confessed to insure your spot in heaven with him at the
lambs table when Jesus Christ comes back. Romans
10:9, That if you confess with your mouth the Lord
Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised
him from the dead, you will be saved. 10:10 For with
the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the
mouth, confession is made to salvation.
On May 14, 1952, "Junior" married the former
Katherine Mincey of Claxton, who preceded him in
death, whom he ioved deariy. To that union, six
chiidren were born. He leaves to cherish in his ioving
memories his children: Ronella (Wayne) Williams,
Boston, MA; Sandra (Freddie) Caradine, Boston, MA;
Feiicia McCoy, Dayton, OH; Lamar (Sheila) McCoy,
Savannah, GA; Emmalon Brooks, Hinesville, GA;
