HOMEGOING SERVICES For Sunrise Sunset 04-08-1931 10-16-2005 Friday^ October 21,2005 1:00 p.m. Hagan Chapel Missionary Bapist Church Hagan, Georgia 30429 Clanton McCoy, Jr. was born on April 8, 1931, the second of five children to the late Clanton McCoy Sr., and the late Ollie Mae Jones McCoy (Williams). He was set free to be at peace on Sunday morning, October 16, 2005. Cianton McCoy was a painter by trade, a man of few words - on most occasions, a connoisseur of cigars, and the CEO of the McCoy - Jones family reunion. "Junior" attended the Evans County Training Schooi, and he became a member of the Hagan Chapel Missionary Bapist Church at an early age. During his latter years at Hagan Chapel, he was a member of the Ushers' Board (Ministry), President of the Laymen's Department, and former member of the Finance Committee. He was a member of the Gladiators Incorporated. In 2002, "Junior" accepted Christ as his personai savior. Romans 10:9-10 was one of his favorite scriptures. He gives you an invitation which must be confessed to insure your spot in heaven with him at the lambs table when Jesus Christ comes back. Romans 10:9, That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10:10 For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made to salvation. On May 14, 1952, "Junior" married the former Katherine Mincey of Claxton, who preceded him in death, whom he ioved deariy. To that union, six chiidren were born. He leaves to cherish in his ioving memories his children: Ronella (Wayne) Williams, Boston, MA; Sandra (Freddie) Caradine, Boston, MA; Feiicia McCoy, Dayton, OH; Lamar (Sheila) McCoy, Savannah, GA; Emmalon Brooks, Hinesville, GA; Sherman McCoy, Statesboro, GA; a devoted sister, Verneiia McCoy Welch, Claxton, GA; brothers, Willie Lee McCoy, Hagan GA; Arthur McCoy, Washington D.C.; Hershel McCoy, Eiizabeth, NJ; sisters-in-law, Evelyn McCoy, Hagan, GA; Priscilla McCoy; Washington, D.C.; Zelma Woodard, Hagan, GA; brother-in-iaw, John Mincey, Whiteplanes, NY;seven cherished grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
