REFLECTIONS OF LIFE
Jimmy Mack of Claxton, GA died on Wednesday March 17, 2004. He
was born on February 19, 1945 to the late Dorothy and Joseph Mack. Jimmy
graduated from Tattnall County High School in 1963. He lived in New York
for many years. He also lived in Killeen, Texas for a few years. He moved
back to Claxton in the early 1980's and remained here until his death.
Jimmy leaves to mourn his death one sister, Janice Jones of Prince
George, VA; one brother-in-law Leroy Jones and their four children; Twila
Torrez of Mary Ester, Florida is a Tech Sgt stationed at Eglin Air Force Base
in FI. Twila has one son Demetris Torrez, Shyra Jones of Prince George, VA
a freshman at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va; Omar
Gunn of Prince George, Va and Eric Heck of San Diego, California.
He leaves Wilbur and Warwesse Polite of Pembroke, GA and their
seven children. Jimmy, Wilbur, and Janice were raised in the same house as
brothers and sister. During the last couple of years due to Jimmys failing
health, Wilbur has been handling Jimmys affairs. Wilbur was devoted to
Jimmy and did everything within his power to make Jimmys life easier.
Jimmy also leaves his mothers brother (Uncle Wilbert) Bishop
James H. Polite of Charleston, S.C. and his daughters Claudia and Maurice
Polite of New York. He leaves numerous cousins and friends to mourn his
death and reflect on precious memories.
Jimmy was loyal to those he called his friends. He was outspoken
and sometimes loudly expressed his opinions (smile).
He joined Smith Chapel Holiness Church at an early age under the
Leadership of Bishop A.L. Owens and Bishop Oscar Foxworth. He did not
attend church often but he was passionate about his beliefs. He was not
easily persuaded. He believed what he believed and stuck by those beliefs.
He was lovingly called Merrill Lynch (a breed apart) by his sister.
All who knew him will miss him!
